At our school we believe that all students can learn. We take responsibility for the engagement, progress and achievement of every student in our care.
We teach our students through an explicit approach using a knowledge and language rich curriculum, providing opportunities for our students to broaden their background knowledge of a wide range of topics and to expand their vocabulary in these areas.
We set our expectations for students high across all levels of the school, which engages students in a curriculum that deepens their thinking, broadens their possibilities and stretches their imagination.
Our learning program is sequenced to provide multiple exposures to new learning over time which enables students to transfer learning into their long term memory.
Like our students, our staff are always seeking to improve; as a community of teachers, leaders and education support staff, we are all passionate with a genuine love of learning. We are privileged to teach, and we know that the quality of our instruction makes the biggest in-school impact on student outcomes. We also know we are better when we work together, so we place importance on being collaborative in all we do.
Everyone has the right to feel safe and happy at school. We place a strong focus on wellbeing by establishing calm and orderly learning environments in which everyone can learn. We teach a broad wellbeing curriculum, focusing on resilience and respectful relationships. We also develop wellbeing through a rich specialist curriculum, which incorporates Physical Education & Health, The Arts, Technologies and Auslan.
Our students benefit from a vibrant extra-curricular offering, which includes a range of lunchtime clubs, and opportunities to attend excursions and camps linked to their learning.
